Afternoon all, today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration *sob*  Last chance to acquire one of the lovely stamp sets and dsp, as from tomorrow they will be no more :-(
Today's card is a simple card and I do like it alot :-)  It uses the First Edition Speciality paper and the stamp is from the Proud Peacock stamp set which can be found in the Spring Mini catalogue, I coloured in the flower with Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder inks.  The stamp set is beautiful, this is the first time I have used this particular stamp and will definitely be using it again.

So, until next time, ...

Well, I think today will be the last sunny day for a while, as the schools kicked out today, didn't they :-D  Today was spent taking my great-aunt shopping and she treated us to brunch too, which was lovely and this afternoon I went to town and signed up with an agency for some part time work.  Needs must, I am so broke, I need to bring in some extra to keep afloat :-(

Today's card is patchwork inspired:
I love to make bags using squares and thought I would have a go making a card with squares too :-)  I used the Postage Stamp punch and Spice Cake dsp for the squares and then used stamps from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Elementary Elegance, for the image and sentiment in the middle.  I love the patchwork effect on this card and think I will be making more of these.

Right now is absolutely the last chance to acquire the fabulous items available for S-A-B, so please message me asap if you are interested in placing an order.

Right, I'm off now, have a good evening and speak to you soon :-)

Spent a lovely day in the woods today, making cobb and pizza and learned about the first flowers of the spring:
The first flower of spring, Celendine, is a beautiful little flower and once you spot one, suddenly you can see them absolutely everywhere.  Another flower that comes out at early spring is the Wood Anemone, which is a little sun-worshipper as the flower turns to face the sun and then closes when the sun goes down:
George's favourite activity today was quite possibly having the job of manning the clay oven and getting it hot enough to cook our pizzas for lunch:
A fabulous day, as always.

I still have spaces available for my classes, on Saturday 31st March and Wednesday 4th April, where we will be making cards like these:
Please message me if you are interested in coming along.  I look forward to hearing from you :-)

Morning!  Sorry for radio silence the past couple of days, been busy and didn't have time to make cards, unfortunately, but I have one for you this morning and thought I'd post it before we head out to enjoy the sunshine B-)
The dsp is from Big Top Birthday and the stamp from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Sprinkled expressions.  I finished it off with a bow (which I think my Stampin' Up! mummy would be proud of) and some bling.

Less than a week now til S-A-B ends, so don't delay and message me today to take advantage of this fab offer :-)

Enjoy your day, whatever you get up to.  I'm hoping to get a walk down the beach, just need to get dressed and have breakfast :-D

Early one this morning, another thing I love about Spring, I seem to naturally want to wake up earlier :-)  Gone are the days where I would have to force myself out of bed after 10am (eeek!  I know...) but be wide awake at 7am and ready to spring (!) out of bed before 8.  Another sunny day today, we are so blessed with this lovely weather, and glad that its not raining for the boy because I think they will be doing expeditions this weekend.  Rain and mud would not be good for him as he is not particularly keen on either.

Today's card mirrors the weather today:
Lovely blue sky, a couple of clouds, the rays of the sun beating down, perfect, ...  The paper is from the Big Top Birthday dsp and the stamp is another one from the Sale-A-Bration set, Sprinkled Expressions.

I am starting another Stampers 6 club in April, so if you would like the opportunity to be a virtual hostess and get the benefits of hosting a workshop, then this is for you!  All that is required is a minimum spend of £25 for each of the 6 months and one of those months, you will receive the hostess benefits for that month.  A fabulous opportunity to spend a little on what you love and slowly build up your Stampin' Up! stash :-)  Message me if you are interested in signing up and for more info.   I look forward to hearing from you.

Evening all!  All by myself this weekend as the boy has gone off to army cadet camp and won't be back til Sunday.  Its the first time that he has been off for the whole weekend since he went to cub camp a few years back, so have my fingers crossed that he has a good time and doesn't miss home too much.  Here is a piccie of my gorgeous boy in his uniform:
So while he's gone, I am endeavouring to get some work done, as I have nearly run out of cards to blog lol Here is one hot off the presses though:
I didn't think I would like this stamp set, Sprinkled Expressions, from the Sale-A-Bration brochure, but after using it, I have changed my mind.  I love the simplicity of them and the sentiments too.  Time is running out on getting these gorgeous freebies though, as Sale-A-Bration ends on 31st March, please feel free to message me if you are interested in placing an order with me.

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful day today!  The perfect day to go down the park:
It would have been criminal to stay indoors today :-)  On the way home we popped into Sainsburys and I wrote out an advert to put on their board, so fingers crossed I might get someone who is interested in learning about making cards notice it and take down my details :-)  I really want to be given the opportunity to share my love of cardmaking and Stampin' Up! products, plus meet others who share the same passion as I do.

The card today is from Sarah-Jane's card class on Monday:
I am in love with this one as well :-D  So fresh and spring-like.  I am so loving this stamp set, Easter Blossoms, the stamps encapsulate spring so well.  For this card, the image was stamped twice and the blossoms coloured in with a lighter and darker pink colour and gives a fab effect, the photo has picked it up well here.

Spring Equinox

Morning all :-)  Off to the bank in a bit to talk about getting an ISA.  Didn't realise they were tax free, so have decided that I will probably be better off sticking what meagre savings I have in one.  As long as the money is still accessible to me should I need it in an emergency, I will go ahead and get one :-)  I was hoping that the weather today would be as lovely as yesterday, and George and I would be able to enjoy a packet of chips in the sunshine, but alas it is cloudy, so we will be enjoying a packet of chips without sun lol, but as long as it doesn't rain, it shouldn't matter, especially as today is the official first day of spring :-D

So, here is today's card, another one from Sarah-Jane's class yesterday:
I absolutely adore this card, it is so fresh and gorgeous :-)  The stamp used is from the Easter Blossoms stamp set again, stamped using black StazOn ink and the blossoms coloured using a Stampin Write Marker pen.  The card also has a shimmer effect on it, created by using shimmer paint dabbed on with clingfilm, left to dry and then pink ink swirled on using a sponge dauber.  I will be using a version of this card for my card class at the end of March/beginning of April.

If you would like more information on joining my friendly and welcoming team, then please message me for a chat, remember that NOW is the best time to join as during Sale-A-Bration, you will also receive an extra stamp set of ANY VALUE along with your starter kit giving you up to £285 worth of stamps and business tools for just £119!  What I love about being part of Stampin' Up! (apart from being able to buy and use all their fab products) is that it is like being part of a huge family, made up of people who share the same passion as me :-)  If you join my team, it will open up opportunities to meet like-minded people, work with these gorgeous products and earn money whilst doing it.  What could be better?!

Spring Classes

Today I went to the lovely Sarah-Jane's for a spring inspired card-making class, which was very apt today as it was a beautiful sunny day outside :-)  I learnt some new techniques and will be trying them out for myself in the future.

Here is today's card, from Sarah-Jane's class:
I love the colour scheme and the stamp set that we used today for the cards.  The stamp set is Easter Blossoms and is in the Spring Mini Catalogue.  The photo doesn't show it very well, but the pink card has been stamped using Whisper White ink, and I am loving the effect that it gives.

I have dates set aside for my next classes and as they are in the week before Easter, I using this stamp set for them.  The dates that are available are 31st March, 3rd and 4th April, and the time will be 10am to 12pm each day.  Please message me for more information and to book your place, I look forward to hearing from you :-)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!  We're having a quiet morning here, catching up on Stella, a series on sky1 that we like, although George says that he is confused by what is going on, typical boy I think :-)  The laptop is playing up and driving me a bit crazy, something else to sort out in a bit I guess.

Anyway, todays card is another that I have tried to keep simple:
The card I used was Very Vanilla backed onto Early Expresso.  The hearts were made from one of the stamps in I (Heart) Hearts stamp set and then punched out using the Heart to Heart punch.  The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Outlined Occassions and I finished it off with some striped grosgrain ribbon matching the ink, Cherry Cobbler.

Remember that Sale-A-Bration ends at the end of March, so not long now to get an order in to receive one of the lovely free items in the S-A-B brochure.  Please message me if you are interested in making an order.

So, today's card is inspired by the card I received from Mandi for my birthday :-)  I stripped the design right down to just the card, no added card, or dsp on this one:

(well, apart from the Spice Cake used for the butterflies).  I did feel the urge to put some ribbon on it though, I love the colour of this ribbon, it is fresh and rather gorgeous :-)

While I was making the card, I lost my seat on the sofa to the pudders though and haven't the heart to move them, so have been relegated to the floor to type this up on the laptop :-D
Hope you are all having a fab day, wherever you are and whatever you're doing and I will speak to you again soon.

Morning, just a quickie today as we are just about to head off out for the day, but wanted to share with you the lovely cards I got from my Stampin' Up mummy and sisters :-)

The one above is from Sarah-Jane, my Stampin' Up mummy, I love it very much and will be analysing how it was made for future reference (I have noticed now that I am scrutinising cards a lot more now to see how they were made lol)
This one was from Mandi, beautiful, I love the simplicity of it (something I still have to learn, I think I still have a bit of an aversion to just using a plain white/cream background for a card)
and this one from Anna, love the butterfly stamp and the sentiment for this one.  I love getting cards from others as it gives me inspiration and ideas for the cards that I make in the future.  Thank you again for sending them :-)

Hello there, how are you all diddling?  Things are good here, spending the day with Grannie today as I'm not allowed to be on my own for 24 hours after sedation.  Going a bit stir crazy now and can't wait for life to get back to normal and getting on with day to day things again.

Here is today's card:

For this card, I used paper from the Spice Cake dsp and a stamp from the Proud Peacock stamp set, both of can be found in the Spring Mini catalogue.  I love the Peacock stamp, its feathers are outlined so you can colour them in yourself in whichever colours you fancy, so each one can be completely different :-)

Right, I'm off, speak to you all tomorrow :-)

D-Day

Morning!  So, by my reckoning, when you read this I will probably be in the land of enforced nod, being prodded and poked and all manner of things lol.  It is probably the hottest day of the year so far, with blazing sun and lovely blue skies too :-D  Ho hum, never mind.

On to today's card:
This is a thank you card for a special couple who sent me a gift for my birthday yesterday.  I used a stamp from the Outlined Occasions stamp set, which I really like, and this is the first time I have used the 'Thanks' sentiment.  The flower is from the Fresh Vintage stamp set and both of these sets are available free when you spend a minimum of £45 on Stampin' Up! goodies.  But time is running out as they are only available until the end of the month, as that is when Sale-A-Bration ends.

Please feel free to message me if any of the stamp sets takes your fancy and I will only be too happy to order anything for you.  I can't endorse Stampin' Up! enough, their products are fabulous and the colours co-ordinate really well together :-)  I hardly ever use any other products now.

Hippy Barthday to me!

Morning!  My birthday today :-)  But it is cancelled until next week as the hospital had the infinite wisdom to book my hospital trip for tomorrow, therefore today is being spent preparing for it and so I am in no mood to celebrate :-(  Even so, here I am, I wanted to share this card with you that I made yesterday.  I love it and I hope that you like it too:
My camera hasn't picked up the colours that brilliantly, I used Bravo Burgundy for the background colour, but the camera has made it look more purple :-/  The paper is from the dsp, Spice Cake, again and I used three stamps from Vintage Vogue and two from Fresh Vintage for the centre piece of the card.  It looks so much more vibrant in real life, its such a shame the camera hasn't picked up the colours that well.

Hope you all have a good day and speak to you tomorrow (well, technically not, cos I am going to do the blog post now and schedule it for tomorrow... )

Another lovely sunny day.  When we went in for swimming this morning it was foggy, but when we came out afterwards, the sun was out and the sky a clear blue :-)  I will be unable to enjoy it though over the next couple of days, if it lasts, apart from looking out of a window at it :-(  I have to prepare for a day in hospital on Wednesday and it will be sods law that the next couple of days will be absolutely beautiful.  Oh well, never mind, we can but hope that there will be many more lovely days to come yet that I can get out and enjoy :-)

It appears that the function to see which photos have already been posted on my blog doesn't appear to be working :-/  I have had to delete today's card as I have already blogged about it last month.  So, here is one that I haven't blogged about (double-checked and everything):

For this one, I used the stamp set, Butterfly Prints for the butterflies and the sentiment.  I cut out one of the butterflies and attached it with dimensionals to give the card a focal point and the rest of the butterflies were stamped in Versamark.  The dsp was Spice Cake and I finished it off with a piece of ribbon.

I will be listing the dates for next month's classes in the next couple of days, if you are interested in signing up for one of my card-making classes, please feel free to message me for more information :-)

Spring has sprung

Apologies for lack of blog post yesterday, it was such a warm and beautiful day, we decided to make the most of it and have chips in Christchurch:
It is the first day this year that the sun has felt hot and at one point, even the cardi came off :-D  So, with Mother's Day coming up, I am busy thinking of Mother's Day inspired cards and here is one of them:

For this card I punched hearts using the Heart to Heart punch and Spice Cake dsp, the centre piece is a stamp from Vintage Vogue.  Perfect for a mother on Mother's Day :-)

Morning!  Not so sunny this morning, but not dark and gloomy either.  So think we will probably brave the outdoors, once we have got the chores done.  Today I have two more squares from the wallhanging to show you close up:
For the one above, I tore a piece of paper from the First Edition Speciality dsp to create a hill effect and then stamped a tree from the Trendy Trees stamp set.  Finally I punched out some flowers using a punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and blinged up with jewels.
The square above was easy to make and looks so bold and beautiful :-)  The flower was created using Flowers, Daisies #2 Bigz die and to finish I put crystal effects on the centre of the flower.

Buttons and Flowers

Evening, hope you all had a good day.  We ended up not doing what was planned for today, felt woolly and yucky so decided to just go round to a friend's for tea and a chat and be in the warm :-)  Having a quick sit down now before its time to take George to army cadets, so thought I would blog while waiting.

As promised,  here are a couple of the squares on the wallhanging photographed up closer:

For this square I used the Sweet Buttons Embosslits Die and added a real button too.  The cut out buttons have Crystal Effects on them to give them a shiny, glossy finish.

I love this square, it is very spring like.  I used a stamp from the stamp set, Easter Blossoms and added flowers made from one of the punches in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, then finished it all off with some bling in the centre of each flower :-)

Sale-A-Bration ends at the end of the month, so not a lot of time to get an order in and take advantage of getting your hands on some freebies :-)  Message me if you are interested in placing an order with me, and I will get on to it.

Time to chivvy George into his cadet uniform now, so I will bid a fond farewell till the next time...

Wednesday, 7 March 2012

Just a quickie today, have been up since 5am this morning as George and I went to London to visit here:

We had a fab tour given by a lovely tour guide and learnt so much about being a sailor in Elizabethan times (enough to know that I definitely wouldn't like to do it lol)  Plus I developed a runny nose this morning too, so it seems that a cold is on its way :-(  So I have decided to blog more about the wallhanging tomorrow when I can photograph it in daylight and have an untired head and more time to write about the individual squares.

Before I go though, here is another little card that I made for market last weekend:
For this one I used stamps from the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the cupcake builder punch to create the cupcake.  I used Versamark to stamp the little hearts and flowers around the cupcake.  I love the sentiment on this one (also from the Create a Cupcake stamp set), but then I do love cupcakes :-)

Right, I'm off, have a good evening and speak to you all tomorrow.
