Post-Convention meet up

Just a quickie this evening, my eyes are not wanting to work, I'm so tired after a busy few days.  Today was a post-convention meet up at Sarah-Jane's and an opportunity for me to meet up with other demonstrators in my Stampin' Up! family.  We also got to see the swaps and ideas that Sarah-Jane brought back from the Stampin' Up! convention at Disneyland Paris last month.

I took a few photos of some of the swaps that I liked the most, for inspiration and here are a few of them:

I love this one, it looks so atmospheric and even though it looks simple, a lot of work has gone into it that belies its complicity.

Here is another one using the same stamp from the Forever Young stamp set.  I love the use of just the two colours making it stand out amongst all the others.

Well, that's all for now, dinner is ready and I am starving :-).  Please feel free to contact me to find out more about being a demonstrator and getting the opportunity to have meet ups like this with other demonstrators for help, hints and tips :-)

Last, but by no means last...

Friday again!  I'm looking forward to tomorrow to Sarah-Jane's post-convention meet up where we will get an opportunity to see what new things came out of the convention in Paris last month.  First of all, I need to get stock ready for a Christmas sale at a school Christmas Fair in Verwood this evening, fingers crossed it is a good turn out and I do well.

In the meantime, while I'm having a sit down and a well-deserved cuppa, I thought I would show you the last card from Monday's Stamp-a-Stack.  I love the stamps used on this one.  The Pear Pizzazz backing cardstock was stamped with the corresponding ink using the Woodgrain stamp.  I love the effect that this stamp gives, it almost makes the card appear to be textured.

The stamp used on the half Scallop Circle was from Polar Party again and was coloured in using a blender pen.

Right, off I go, back to Daydreaming and Sewing stuff now, speak to you all soon,

December Already? :-O

Heck, how did it become December already?  This year seems to have flown by!  Only 24 days til Christmas and I'm still nowhere near organised yet, need to get my skates on at some point I think, but as this is the busiest time for my businesses too, it makes it harder to find any spare time (especially now I am having fun playing with my new toy too)

The card I'm showcasing today was the first card I made on Monday morning at Sarah-Jane's Stamp-a-Stack class and it eased me in gently to the morning's work!  On this one I used the Something for Christmas stamp and Stampin Write Marker pens were used to achieve the different colours for the stamp.  It was stamped onto a piece of card cut out using the Top Note die for the Big Shot (did I mention that I got the Big Shot yesterday)?  Can't wait for it to arrive later on this week squeee).  The blue card was stamped with Jolly Jingles, using a jumbo roller and Versamark ink.

Here is a shot of the sentiment on the inside of the card.

I love being a demonstrator, there are so many benefits, not least the opportunity to get a discount on everything you order for yourself.  It is a fab way of sharing your love of stamping and cardmaking with others and making lots of new friends along the way. Please feel free to contact me for further info about how you too can start sharing your passion for cardmaking and stamping, and earn a little bit too along the way :-)

See you all tomorrow with the last of the cards I made on Monday :-)

P-p-p-pick up a Penguin!

Hi again, killing time til my latest Stampin' Up! order arrives, can't wait to get my hands on my very own Big Shot and play with the new stamp sets I've ordered, including two that I bought with hostess pounds.  When you host a workshop, you will earn hostess pounds too to spend either on the special hostess gifts at the front of the catalogue, or if they don't take your fancy, you can put the money towards anything else in the catalogue too.

While I'm (not very patiently) waiting, here is the third design from Monday's class.  This one is by far the cutest!  The cute penguin stamps are from the Polar Party stamp set and I love them.  They were stamped using Island Indigo ink.  The blue card stock was stamped using two more stamps from the Polar Party stamp set too.  To finish off, a large eyelet was added using the Crop-a-Dile and a ribbon threaded through and knotted.

If you are interested in hosting a workshop, either in your home, or if you live further afield, virtually, please feel free to contact me for more information :-)

Pinkety Pink Pink!!!

This was by far my favourite card that I made yesterday.  I love pink and am not ashamed to say it is probably my favourite colour, so this card appealed to me immediately!  This card used melon mambo, from the brights collection and the use of black as a contrast works really well.  Again, the Pennant Parade stamp set and Petite Pennants builder punch were used for the Christmas trees and we used StazOn black ink (which smells of marzipan!) to stamp the pots.  Lastly, Dazzling Diamonds glitter was used to jazz up the Christmas trees (and I managed to get it just about everywhere else too, can't be trusted with glitter lol).

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

Today was the last Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class with Sarah-Jane for this year.  Stamp-a Stack is where we make 2 cards each of 5 designs in one morning whilst singing along to Christmas songs and eating mince pies (well, not me as I am vegan, so Sarah-Jane made a batch of carrot cake cupcakes especially for me, which are scrummy :-)  )

I think that the set of cards we made this morning are my favourite out of the three stamp-a-stack classes we have done.  Each of the designs makes use of more striking colour combinations.

This card gave me the opportunity to try out heat embossing for the first time too.  It was surprisingly easy to do.  The stamp used was from the stamp set, Serene Snowflakes and looks so striking with the blue of  the Night of Navy card stock.  The Christmas tree was made using the Pennant Parade stamp set and the Petite Pennants builder punch, both of which I ordered last week and can't wait til they arrive and I can play with them, I need to make Christmas cards for family and friends :-)

From the new year, I will be making dates for classes, so if you are interested, please get in contact with me for further info.

Milk Carton

Today I wanted to have a go at making a milk carton.  You can find the tutorial on my Stampin' Up mummy's page here.  It is very quick and easy to make and I like my first attempt, even though the picture makes it look like its a bit lopsided lol.  Only a quickie today as I have things to make over at Daydreaming and Sewing, so have a good day everyone and speak to you soon.

Oh, and before I go, remember that if you host a workshop before 15th December there are extra benefits if you have sales of over £300.  Contact me for more info :-)

Now, I think I am going to have to take a picture in daylight, because this is supposed to be pink!  I thought it was about time I used the stamps from the set, I (heart) hearts.  I used card stock from the Subtles Collection, Pretty In Pink and Pink Pirouette, and contrasted the pinkness by using Wild Wasabi and Perfect Plum ink pads for the hearts, from the same collection.  If you look carefully, you can see that I have stamped a different heart from the set using Versa Mark too.

Bunting and Butterflies

I found the paper for today's card in the paper share that I bought from my Stampin' Up! mummy, Sarah-Jane, last week.  It is one from the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper and I like it because of the bunting.  Two of the items on my very long wish list are the stamp set Pennant Parade and the Petit Pennants Builder.  I can't wait to get those :-)  So when I saw this paper, I thought it was the next best thing as bunting is very in at the moment.  I added the butterflies and the ribbon to give it another dimension and like how it has turned out.

Good Morning!

Good morning!  I wanted to show you another card that I made on Saturday at Grannie's house:

For this one, I used Calypso Coral from the In Colours (although the picture is a bit misleading because its not as pink as that in real life), both for the card and for the stamp of the cage.  I wanted to play with the Versa Mark inkpad and I think it has worked well for stamping the birds from the Aviary stamp set on to the cardstock.  Finally, the paper I used can be found in the Well Worn DSP.

Dive in, the water's lovely!

hello there, had a productive day card making on yesterday.  I wanted to show my grandmother how fab Stampin' Up! products are and how they all complement each other really well.  For this card I decided to use some of the In Colours again, this time Lucky Limeade card-stock and Island Indigo and Pool Party ink pads were used for the Triple Treat Flower.  Finally, I used Lucky Limeade for the friendship stamp (which can be found in the For Everything stamp-set).

Aviary Class

Last week I went to my card class hosted by my Stampin' Up! mummy, Sarah-Jane.  This one was focussing on the yummy Aviary stamp set.

This one I love, but then I am a pink girl :-)  The colours work really well together and I love the DSP used, Flirtatious Speciality, it is gorgeous.

This one is lovely too, again it is showcasing the Flirtatious Speciality DSP.  One of the things on my wish list is the Big Shot and I think that the first thing I will buy for it will probably be this embossing one, Vintage Wallpaper, it is so pretty.

And the final one from last week's class.  The doily is from a big sheet of different patterned doilies that is also in the Flirtatious Speciality DSP (another thing to add to my wish list lol).

Not going to mention the 'C' word...

Sorry for radio silence, things have been busy on the Daydreaming and Sewing front recently :-)  In between the busyness, I did find time to make this card for a friend who is in hospital at the moment.  I love the sunniness of So Saffron, I think it makes the card light and cheery.  The stamps used are the fab Triple Treat Flower and the small flower is from the set For Everything.  I used one of my favourite ink colours, Wisteria Wonder.

Don't forget that if you host a workshop between now and 15th December, you will qualify for extra hostess benefits if your orders total £300 or more.  Feel free to message me for more info.

Market Weekend

This weekend I have two markets, Saturday I am at Boscombe Vintage Market and Sunday I will be at Lyndhurst in the Community Centre, so lots of preparation this week to have stock ready to sell.  Fingers crossed the car starts as it's being temperamental at the moment :-(

Anyway, amongst all the busyness, I still found time to make another card:

This one showcases all the in colours from the new catalogue and I used stamps from the For Everything stamp set.  I am loving Calypso Coral, it is so fresh and works well with Island Indigo.

Right, off I go, must get dressed and go out, take advantage of the sun being out.  Have a good day :-)

Today's Card...

I know, its not the best photo, but I wanted to show off the card that I made this afternoon :-)  I used the subtles designer series patterns stack paper in Perfect Plum and contrasted it with a piece of Marina Mist card, which sets off the three heart pattern using a stamp from the I (heart) hearts stamp set (using perfect plum ink) perfectly.  I love it :-D

There is a fantastic offer on from Stampin' Up! for you between now and 15th December.  If you host a workshop that generates £300 or more, you will get a free stamp set and set of dsp papers along with the usual hostess benefits:
They are the Paisley Petals Stamp set (in either wood or clear) and the matching set of Paisley DSP:

They look fab, don't they?  Please contact me if you are interested in hosting a workshop.  If you don't want to hold a workshop, it is possible to gain hostess benefits by showing a catalogue to friends and family to get orders, and  those will count towards getting hostess gifts for you :-)

Its Arrived!!

Waited in for only just half of a day for my package to arrive, kept checking out the window when I thought I heard a van on the road outside all morning :-)  And then there was a ring at the doorbell and there it was:

and then when I opened it, this is what was inside:

Here it is spread out on the floor (stitching will have to take a back seat for a little while)

and then I received a parcel in the normal post and found this inside:

A card and gifts from my Stampin' Up! mummy, Sarah-Jane.  A lovely surprise to round off an exciting morning waiting :-)

Why is waiting so hard to do?

Got notification this morning that my starter pack has been dispatched, so I have got the UPS tracking page open and am trying hard to not refresh the page every five minutes!  Apparently it left Brussels at 9.30 this morning, so I guess it could be anywhere between there and here right now.

While I am waiting, I thought I would post photos of a card I made with Sarah-Jane a while back using a stamp set that I have included in my starter pack.  The stamp set is called Aviary and I love it :-)

I'm going to have so much fun when my kit arrives in the next couple of days, I can hardly wait :-)

Nearly there...

Well, by tomorrow, I will have sent off my application form to become a Stampin Up! demonstrator :-)  How excited am I to start on this new journey?!  Anyway, last Monday I attended a class at the lovely Sarah-Jane's where we made ten Christmas cards:

Welcome to my new blog!

Hopefully I will be up and running in a few weeks time, so keep watching this space.  I am really looking forward to this new venture.
